In-House Counseling
The emotional well-being of our students is one of our school’s top priorities. As such, we incorporate the help of our school counselor into three important areas of our students' school experience:
1. Academic Development
Our in-house school counselor helps our teachers design and implement an instructional program that takes into account the children’s psychological development, needs, and strengths. We are not only focusing on providing excellent academic instruction, but we are also doing it in a way that addresses the emotional development of every child. Each age group has different developmental needs and within these groups there are always individual differences. Children have different learning styles, communicate differently, and have different temperaments. We take all of these factors into account as we work with the students in groups and individually

2. Parent Support
Being a parent is an exciting and awe-inspiring experience, but it can also be extremely challenging. This is why we feel it is important to offer a space for parents to come together in which they can provide support to one another, ask questions, and share ideas from their own parenting experience, all while the school counselor shares information about child development of interest to the parents. These groups are a judgment-free zone and our hope is that they will help you strengthen, and perhaps discover, the parenting style that works best for you and your family. While participation in our Talk & Tea sessions is of course entirely voluntary, they sessions fill up quickly and are a wonderful way for parents to meet one another.
3. Family Consultations
The school counselor not only helps us with the implementation of a holistic curriculum and guidance during the parent groups, but is also available to families on an individual basis alongside the director to address more specific topics in as much as these are related to the child’s school performance or experience. These consultations are always carried out with the utmost respect for the family's privacy and all topics discussed remain confidential.
