School Life
Our school respects the principles of neutrality and secularity of the French educational system by ensuring that all teaching is in accordance with the respect of all beliefs without predilection for any particular religions. Through this nondenominational principle, we are able to orient our teaching towards the objectivity of knowledge by respecting the diversity of opinions and to thereby guarantee students the possibility for freedom of development in terms of scientific knowledge, creative growth, and critical thinking. Our teaching is conferred with neutrality by the teachers and all staff members as no political, religious, or philosophical opinion is transmitted through the teachings of our school.

Hot-Lunch Lunch Service
Each month, our parents pre-select dishes for their children from our menu calendar which features multiple daily specials as well as recurring favorites. All meals are made from scratch every morning in a nut-free and microwave-free kitchen with only natural ingredients (no MSG, no trans fats, no nitrates, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial colors or flavors). Orders for special diets are welcome, including gluten free, kosher, and vegetarian.

Dress Code
All students are expected to wear their school uniform and navy closed-toe shoes as defined in the school handbook. East campus students must bring a pair of navy moccasins to wear while indoors. The last Friday of each month is "Dress Down Day" -- on that day, students may opt not to wear their school uniform.

Homework
We believe schoolwork belongs at school. Aside from projects (generally one per trimester), our students are not assigned work to be done at home. No worksheets, no paragraphs, no essays -- in other words, no homework. That said, teachers do regularly assign "reviewing" to students, such as studying for a spelling quiz or ensuring a poem is fully memorized and ready to be recited. Because some families request homework, teachers may assign optional work to be done at home. Elementary students wishing to receive extra help in any subject may sign up for sessions available immediately after school.

Non-Native Speakers
Students who are not fluent in French are required to attend the FLE (Francais Langue Etrangere) class offered as part of the After-School Enrichment Program. They may also receive extra French time during the regular school day. Likewise, French students who recently arrived to the US benefit from extra English time to help them improve their language skills.
